Civilian killed, dozens injured after Indian army opens fire on mourners in Shopian, Islamabad

Srinagar, August 4 2018 : A civilian identified as Bilal Ahmad Khan resident of Shopian was killed and two others injured after Indian army opened fire on mourners in Ganowpora village of Shopian in south Kashmir on Saturday. The funeral prayers of a  martyr Arshad Ahmad Khan in Ganowpora who was killed along with four persons in Kiloora Shopian earlier today.  The Indian army forces fired live ammunition on mourners, resulting in injuries to several  persons.

Srinagar, Thursday, April 27th, 2017:  The authorities imposed ban on 22 social media sites, mobile phone messengers and video-uploading sites in Kashmir for at least a period of one month. The ban has been imposed in the backdrop of unending protests led by youth, particularly students, in their teens and early twenties. Indian forces used brute force

Srinagar, Dec 7, 2016:  Indian forces used brute force and fired pellets, teargass shells on protesters in Murran area of Pulwama district Wednesday afternoon. Locals said that police tried to foil a pro-freedom rally ‘Muraan Chalo’ resulting in clashes. They said that forces raided the venue of the rally and youth pelted stones on forces deployed in strength in the area.
Police have  also arrested at least nine youth during a nocturnal raid in  Muran and Rahmoo areas of the district.
