‘Police arrested over 500’ youth in Kashmir valley'

Srinagar, Monday, 28 April 2014  : Police have arrested over 500 youth across Kashmir valley, to prevent them from pro freedom protests.   According to police officials, 70 youths have been arrested in Islamabad, Pulwama, Shopian, Awantipora and Kulgam areas while 400 youths in Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderble and around 60 youths from North Kashmir.

Srinagar, December 07:  Kashmir based tourist traders has said that 140 hotels and guest houses continue to be under the occupation of Indian forces and the leaders and activists of various political parties in Srinagar only.  They also said that the tourism department of giving bad name to Kashmir tourism by erecting hoardings across Srinagar warning the tourism tourist traders not to cheat and harass the tourists.

Local Imam shot at in Rajouri, injured, Indian troops killed civilian

Srinagar, August 15, 2012: A local Imam was injured after shot at by unknown gunmen at Kotranka area in Rajouri district, late this evening.

Muhammad Taj, Imam of a local Masjid at Kotranka in Rajouri district was sustained bullet injuries in his left leg when unidentified gunmen fired upon him from a close range in Kotranka village late Wednesday evening, official sources told Global News Service.

The Imam was immediately rushed to nearby hospital for treatment. However, his condition is stated to be stable, sources said.
