 New Delhi ,March 14 : A fact finding committee (FFC) of the Press Council of India (PCI) has found that the “news media in the Jammu & Kashmir and especially in the Kashmir Valley is slowly being choked mainly because of the extensive curbs imposed by the local administration”. The FFC was set up in September 2021 by then PCI chairman Justice (retd) C K Prasad to look at the state of the media in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir after PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti wrote to the Council.  “There is a long list of journalists who have been individually harassed. The object is to create a fear and intimidation to fall in with the government line,” the FFC   committee has said in its report that was submitted last week.

 Srinagar, March 10 :  Indian troops martyred three Kashmiri youth in Pulwama and Srinagar districts, today in n Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. 

 Jammu- Srinagar March 9 : One person was killed and 15 others were injured in a mysterious blast in Udhampur districtin Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The blast took place at busy Slathia Chowk of the district, the police officer said.

 Geneva, March 9 : The Members of the European Parliament (MEPs)  and other top constitutional authorities  have expressed  serious concern over the treatment of human rights defenders in India and IIOJK. 

  NEW DELHI , India March 9, 2022: Two Muslim men are said to have been thrashed on Sunday night in Gurugram, Haryana  state in India, allegedly on account of their religion. The two assailants who attacked the duo initially seemed to have no motive other than that they belong to a particular religion. However, before leaving the spot they snatched their mobile phones and bike. A PTI report, quoted local police as saying the two assailants attacked and hurled religious slurs at Abdur Rehman and his friend Mohammad Azam. The police is said to have identified one of the assailants as Amit.

 Amaravati, India March 9, 2022:  A local Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader, Kona Venkata Rao, consumed poison and killed himself after alleging that he was harassed by the local Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) leader and the local police in Indian state Andhra Pradesh.

Srinagar, March 8, 2022 :  Hundreds of mourners gathered for the last rites of 19-year-old Rafiya Nazir who succumbed to her injuries received in a grenade blast a day earlier in Srinagar, in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Heart-wrenching wails filled the air as inconsolable relatives and friends recalled how the young girl, who had recently passed class 12 examinations with flying colours, wanted to become a doctor.

Delhi, March5, 2022:A  Christian pastor was attacked  and  severely beaten up by a  Hindutva mob and forced to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’ on 25 February in Indian capital city of South Delhi . The victim identified as Kelom Kalyan Tet filed a complaint at Maidan Garhi police station two days later. The complaint was initially not being converted into an FIR.

Srinagar, March 4: Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism, shot at and injured one Kashmiri youth and arrested him in Kupwara district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.  The youth was injured after troops fired on him during cordon and search operation in Langate area of the district. The injured was also arrested and was admitted in a hospital where his condition is stated to be stable.The operation continued till last reports came in.

 Srinagar, March 03: 200 students have only  two classrooms in a government school in Ganderbal district in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.  There are two rooms in the school building only while the roll is high. Now we are asking students to attend the school shift-wise. We know it will affect the students but we have no option,” said one of the teachers is Government Middle School Zeripora Kulan which falls in Hariganiwan Educational Zone of Kangan town of the district.
