 HYDERABAD, August 28: The number of cases reported in Indian state Telangana under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses Act (POCSO) and cybercrime targeting children has increased significantly, police data show.

 Rajkot, August 28, 2022 :The editor and the owner of ‘Saurashtra Headline’, a Rajkot-based eveninger, were booked for publishing an article hinting at the possible removal of Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel  of BJP citing unhappiness in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s central leadership with his performance, a police official said on Saturday. 

Protesters at Freedom Park in Indian city Bengaluru demand justice for Bilkis Bano

 Bengaluru, AUG 28 2022: More than 1,000 people from all walks of life, including women’s organisations, workers’ unions, student unions, lawyers and artists gathered at the Freedom Park in the Indian southerin city Bengaluru  on Saturday demanding justice for gang rape victim Bilkis Bano. They condemned the remission of sentence demanding that the same be invalidated and the culprits be immediately sent back to prison to continue their full life term.

 Devgadh Baria, August 26, 2022: Fearing for their lives, Muslims migrated from the Randhikpur village after 11 convicts who mostly belong to Hindutva BJP-RSS in the Bilkis Bano case were released by the BJPs Gujarat government. Sameer Ghachi, who fled Randhikpur village in Indian state Gujarat governed by Hindutva BJP government with his entire family of 12 and, migrated to his uncle's place in Devgadh Baria.

Another Dalit boy in hospital after teacher beats him in Indian state Rajasthan

BarmerAugust 24, 2022 :The Dalit boy who is a student of Class 7, has been hospitalized with injuries to his head after being beaten up by his Hindutva teacher Ashok Mali, in Indian state Rajasthan’s Barmer, days after a similar incident was reported in the same state. The boy, who is a student of Class 7, had left out a question during a test, following which his teacher beat him and slammed him against the wall, his brother - also a student of Class 7 at the same school - said. He was taken home with an injury to his head, unconscious.

Karnataka HC refuses to ban loudspeakers for azaan

BENGALURU, August 23 : The Indian state Karnataka’s high court has refrained from directing the authorities to stop mosques from using loudspeakers or public-address systems for the azaan/adhan (call to prayer) five times a day. The court said tolerance is the characteristic of the Constitution of India as well as Indian civilisation.
