Srinagar, December 05, 2011: Hundreds of people in Handwara protested against the Indian troops for beating the civilians at Satkozi village. The residents of Handwara said that the troops entered the houses and started beating the inmates indiscriminately without any reason.
They demanded revocation of the draconian law, Armed Forces Special Powers Act and other such laws granting immunity to troops.
Srinagar, November 18, 2011: a widow, Taja Begum of Warpora in Handawara -Tehsil of Kupwara district whose husband was killed due to third degree torture in custody by the Indian troops in 1992, is waiting for justice for the past 16-years.
The life took an ugly turn for Taja when Border Security Force (BSF) troopers of Maghwa camp arrested her husband, Muhammad Ramzan, on January 22, 1992, she reveals.
New Delhi, Oct 21: The parents of MBBS student, Wasim Akram Malik, who was arrested by the India’s National Investigating Agency (NIA) on September 7 Delhi High Court Blast, have said that their son was being pressured to own the responsibility for the incident.

Srinagar, October 12, 2011: An injured young boy succumbed to his bullet injuries, today, in Pampore. The 18 year old boy Muzaffar Ahmad Mir son of Ghulam Nabi Mir of Kadalbal Pampore who was critically injured during indiscriminate fire of Indian paramilitary forces on September 13, 2011, succumbed to his injuries. Thousands of people including JKLF Chairman, Mohammad Yasin Malik, senior AHPC leader, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Zaffar Akbar Butt, Yasmeen Raja and other leaders participated in the funeral prayer of the victim.

Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, 35, S/o Abdul Salam Lone R/o Melhora, Zainapora Wanduna Shopian of Melhura of Wachi drowned in River Jehlum after he was chased away by the Indian paramilitary forces during siege and search operation. Soon after the death , hundreds of people assembled on highway road and started protests against the killing.
