Jahangirpuri Violence, India: Case Filed Against Hindutva Bajrang Dal, VHP Members

 NEW DELHI , IndianApril 19:  Amid allegations of partial actions against Muslims, Delhi Police on Monday filed a case against the members of Hinduva Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal Delhi for taking out a procession without permission on April 16 in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area. 

According to India Today, local VHP leader Prem Sharma, one of the accused in the Delhi violence, has been arrested.
 Voilence broke out after Hindutva groups took out a Hanuman Jayanti procession in northwest Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area on Saturday evening. Several police personnel were injured in the ensuing violence. According to the police, stones were pelted and some vehicles torched during the clashes. The Delhi Police initiated an investigation on Saturday night and have arrested 23 people so far.
