Srinagar, January 11,2020: Indian troops have arrested overa dozen persons in Srinagar ,Budgam, Bandipora, Kulgam, Pulwama and Shopian districts..Indian troops, paramilitary forces and Special Operation Group during joint cordon and search operations and house raids arrested Rizwan Ahmed Rather of Methan Chanapora and Shahnawaz Sikandar of Rajpora Pulwama in Nowgam in Srinagar, Irfan Rashid Dar, Shabir Ahmed Gojri, Zahoor Ahmed Parray alias Jaana, Shabir Ahmed Wani, Muhammad Ashraf Shah and Sajad Ahmed Dar, all residents of Hajin town of Bandpora.The official said one of them whom he identified as Zahoor Ahmed Parray alias Jaana was booked under black law Public Safety Act and shifted to Srinagar Central Jail.
Police Station Argam in Bandipora also arrested two persons for questioning identified as Amir Ahmed Bhat and Sameer Ahmed Najar, residents of Chanapora, Bandipora.
Police arrested three youth identified as Mudasir Ahmed Khan, Abdul Aziz Khan and Muhammad Arif Mir, all residents of Zagu Khurian Beerwah in Cental Kashmir’s Budgam distric, a Jamat-e-Islami activist whom police identified as Mufti Imran Wani of Chotpora Shopian ,Imam of Jamia Masjid Shabir Ahmed ,Showkat Ahmed Mir, Shabir Ahmed Mir and Javaid Ahmed Sofi in Kakapora and Littar areas of Pulwama and one Mubarak Ahmed Ganai, a resident of Banimohalla Devsar was detained in Kulgam.
Meanwhile, the authorities have revoked the detention orders issued under draconian Public Safety Act (PSA) against 26 persons, including former president of High Court Bar Association, Nazir Ahmed Ronga.
These people were detained and booked under the PSA after August 5, last year, when the Indian government repealed Kashmir’s special status and divided it into two union territories.
The list includes former Bar Association president, Nazir Ahmed Ronga who is from Srinagar and rest 11 are from North Kashmir and 14 from South Kashmir.
Ten detainees who were lodged in Central Jail Srinagar were released this evening and rest of them who are detained in Indian Uttar Pradesh jails are being released tomorrow.

Over 500 persons are detained under black law PSA and majority of them are lodged in Indian jails of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana jails. They were mostly detained around August 5 when Articles 370 and 35A and Jammu and Kashmir were scrapped by New Delhi.
