Srinagar, November 19: Indian forces personnel launched violent cordon-and-search operations in Baramulla district of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.Indian Army, paramilitary and Border Security Force personnel conducted search and frisking operations in Uri and other areas of the district. Army officials said the operation was launched after detecting suspicious movement near the Line of Control in the Uri area. However, no recoveries were reported at the time of filing this report.
In a separate operation, Indian personnel from the 2nd Battalion of the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and the Special Operations Group (SOG) claimed to have recovered a live Chinese grenade in the Tappar Kreeri area of Baramulla district. Indian police and paramilitary forces also conducted raids at Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu, where hundreds of detainees were subjected to interrogation. Over 600 prisoners, including Hurriyat leaders and activists, are currently languishing in the jail.
Meanwhile, a sudden fire broke out at the Divisional Forest Office in Tangmarg, Baramulla district. The blaze spread rapidly due to wooden structures and stored records, continuing for several hours and causing damage to office furniture, documents, and other items.
On the other hand, the body of 27-year-old Bilal Ahmad Sango, a labourer from Baba Nagri Wangat in Kangan area of Ganderbal district who died in the recent blast near Delhi’s Red Fort, was brought to his native village on Wednesday. Sango, who had been working in Delhi since 2019, was among thirteen people killed in the explosion.
The mortal remains reached Baba Nagri Wangat earlier on Wednesday, where emotional scenes unfolded as locals gathered to receive the body. Family members said Sango had been working as a daily-wage labourer in Delhi to support his household expenses. Hundreds of people participated in the last rites of the victim, who was buried in his ancestral graveyard in Wangat. Source Kashmir Media Service
