Indian army attempts to occupy play ground in Srinagar

Srinagar, Jan 18, 2021: the people staged a protest against the Indian army who is trying forcibly  to occupy a playground in Srinagar city. The protesters at press enclave in Srinagar city said that from the past week, the Indian army is regularly visiting the playground and they started fencing work in Chattabal area of cit in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. The local while expressing concern  over grabbing land by Indian Army said “Where will our children go if the Indian Army occupies this playground? 

It is the lone playfield that our children are using for recreation and sports activities,” the protesters said.
“I am 47- year old and since my childhood I have been playing in this ground. How can the Indian Army forcibly occupy this ground? Nobody is listening to us, even district administration is mum over the development,” said one of the protester.
The protesters said that the Indian army forcibly wants to occupy this ground. “Do they want our children to take drugs and are not happy with the sports activities in the area. 
The protesters raised slogans said it is a really sorry state of affairs that the army is occupying anything at will and there is no one to question them. 
 
Meanwhile, several shops and houses damaged in nocturnal blazes in Srinagar and Kupwara districts.
seven shops have been damaged after fire broke out in a two-storey shop building in a major nocturnal blaze at Iqbal Market Kupwara 
Property worth lakhs got damaged in the fire incident, the reports said.  
Meanwhile, three residential houses were gutted while two firefighters were injured while trying to douse flames in the congested  area of Nawa Kadal in Srinagar .
“There were at least 20 to 25 adjoining houses, which could have been engulfed in the fire but the timely action of the Fire and Emergency Service (F&ES) personnel helped contain the fire in the wooded attic portion of the two houses and didn’t allow it to spread,” a statement of Fire and Emergency Service said.
