Srinagar, September 23, 2016: A 22-year-old 12th class student Waseem Nazir was killed by Indian armys's Rashtriya Rifles during pro-freedom protests on Baramulla-Kupwara highway in Nadihal area. “Waseem and the attendants who were carrying his body were soiled with mud,” eye witnesses at Baramulla hospital said. “We were cutting paddy in the fields when Indian army fired bullets,” attendants of Waseem said. , “the youth was brought dead to the hospital,” said Medical Superintendent Baramulla Hospital, Dr Masood. “He was hit by bullet on left shoulder which had entered his body and reached near his neck causing his death,” he informed. Waseem, son of Nazir Ahmad Lone, is 22 year old youth who lived in Nadihal village.
With the death of Waseem, at least 106 civilians moslty among them were young boys and women have been killed by Indian forces since July 09 when current Go India Go Back and anti-India uprising was triggered by the death of popular commander Burhan Wani.
Thousands of people, who attended the funeral prayers of Waseem Ahmad Lone killed in Indian forces’ firing, were in tears as his body was lowered into a grave at his ancestral village of Bunpora in Nadihal area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. The prayers were led by his father Nazir Ahmad Lone at a school ground in the locality.
Lone, according to his family and witnesses, was killed after indian forces opened unprovoked fire on him , they directy fired on him while he was harvesting crops in his fields at Nadihal area of Rafiabad.
Local hospital authorities said a bullet had hit Lone on his back and pierced through his heart, resulting in his death. “The bullet had damaged his heart, causing his instant death,” said Dr Masood, Medical Superintendent of District Hospital Baramulla.
Earlier today, thousands of people assembled on Baramulla-Kupwara highway with the body of Lone to take part in a peace march.
Amid pro-freedom , Go India Go back, quite Kashmir, Kashmir hamara chood doo and anti-India slogans, the body of Lone was then marched to the school ground for last rites.

In a fresh arrest spree, Indian police have detained many members of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat (TeH) from different parts of Valley on Friday. A senior TeH member Ghulam Mohammad Tantray was arrested from his Behrampora Sopore residence today. “Tantray’s two sons have been already booked under black law Public Safety Act and are lodged in a jail outside Kashmir.
In another incident, TeH’s Sopore Tehsil president Mohammad Shaban Khan was arrested and lodged in a police lockup in Sopore. “Khan’s son already stands arrested under draconain law PSA.” TeH’s Bandipora secretary Muhammad Yousuf Sofi alias Salman was arrested by police .
Official sources said the three youth identified as Hilal Ahmad Sofi of Badergund, Nazir Ahmad Ganie of Fatehpora and Javeed Ahmed Bhat of Tulmulla Ganderbal district have been charged with participating in pro-freedom protests and shifted to different jails in Kathua and Udhampur. A senior police official confirmed to news agency that three more youth were booked under black law PSA in the district.
